On March 19th, more than 75 supporters joined us for the annual Leadership Reception at Wells House. This annual event recognizes the important role Leadership Givers play in the United Way campaign and our community.
The reception was hosted by Indiana University First Lady Laurie McRobbie. Vanguard Chair Jim Grandorf, United Way Board Chair Mark Franklin, and United Way Executive Director Barry Lessow joined the First Lady in expressing thanks for the dedication of the Young Leaders and Vanguards.
The Vanguard Leadership Giving Program recognizes individuals or couples who contribute $1,000 or more annually. The Young Leaders Society recognizes those under the age of 40 who make a combined annual gift of at least $500. Both Vanguard and Young Leaders show a commitment to strengthening our neighborhoods by creating sustained improvements in the lives of community members.
In her address, Mrs. McRobbie commended the dedication and involvement of IU donors in raising funds to strengthen the community.
Mrs. McRobbie also announced that the IU campaign reached its fundraising goal of $850,000. She applauded all of the community's leadership givers, "The entire community feels the benefit from your involvement with United Way."
Thank you to all of our Leadership givers.
