Community Impact Manager

Reports to: President & CEO
Position supports the mission of United Way of South Central Indiana (UWSCI) by working with the team to identify gaps in services in the six county community, and then respond with meaningful and impactful initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations which align with United Way’s strategic goals and objectives.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Oversee all programmatic aspects for UWSCI’s Community Initiatives including funding, event logistics, promotion and marketing, activities, and volunteer coordination.
- Develop specific, measurable goals for programs, and report regularly to funders and executive team on progress.
- Deliver high quality, meaningful, portable volunteer experiences to UWSCI partners as requested.
- Strong project management skills are essential.
- Convene and spearhead efforts of various cross-sector coalitions that align with the strategic plan such as the Financial Stability Alliance, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Student UW and annual agency grant funding partnerships.
- Solicitation and administration of all UWSCI grants, both incoming and outgoing. Grant administration includes managing the use of grant management software, solicitation and reporting of local and federal grant awards and sponsorships for various initiatives.
- Additionally, oversee all aspects of VITA Community Tax Service along with funding cycles and reporting.
- Maintain and gather data and information on United Way community indicators. Identify gaps in existing services and implement new initiatives and partnerships to address community needs.
- Represent United Way in various community groups, boards, and commissions, participate in community-wide planning activities, and serve as an ambassador at events.
- Support donor development and retention by working with the Development Director to be responsive to the engagement needs and desires of the community, developing tailored opportunities for engagement and stewardship as needed.
- Recruit, hire, evaluate and terminate staff, interns and/or consultants, as appropriate, and in keeping with budgeted personnel expenditures, to assist in accomplishing the tasks listed above.
- Remain connected to Indiana United Ways and United Way Worldwide initiatives, development opportunities, and strategic plans by reviewing communications and opportunities for training and networking.
Education Prerequisites:
Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience in volunteer engagement and development preferred.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Effective communication skills including the ability to present information in multiple ways using the latest technology.
- Must have reliable transportation to attend meetings and assist with volunteer projects at various locations throughout our six-county region.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
No special physical demands beyond light lifting are required to work in this fast-paced environment. Limited wheelchair accessibility.
Salary and Benefits:
Position includes full benefit package including paid health care for employee, dental and vision, 403b contribution, vacation and personal days. Salary range:$40,000 to $45,000 commensurate with experience.
