Partnership Between United Way and Organized Labor

Since 1946, the AFL-CIO and United Way Worldwide have enjoyed a cooperative relationship through which they and local United Ways provide services to members of organized labor, their families, and their communities. This partnership has positively impacted hundreds of local families.

Our support to local union members includes:

  • Provides information and referral to those who don't know where to turn.

  • Assists workers who have lost their jobs.

  • Maintains and funds (with the help of organized labor and the community) an account at the Hoosier Hills Food Bank where union members and their families can obtain food assistance.
