Did you know that students who begin reading early have much higher graduation rates than their peers? And that 85% of brain development occurs before the age of 5?
The team at Envisage Technologies recently dedicated their time and talent to promoting a love of reading among preschoolers and kindergarteners at partner agencies including the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Leap Ahead Center. Despite the challenges posed by COVID, the team assembled 60 literacy kits for kids while learning about child development, childcare access and affordability challenges, and the role played by nonprofits in addressing these issues. Each tote included 4 age-appropriate books, a coloring book, a sticker book, crayons, colored pencils, Play-Doh, and Wikki Stix to help kids get ready for Kindergarten and beyond.
