United Way of Monroe County received the Golden Excellence in Media (GEM) award for mid-size United Ways from the Indiana Association of United Ways during a statewide conference on March 5th. This award specifically recognizes our MyFreeTaxes.com awareness efforts for the 2014 tax season. Additionally, our campaign materials and holiday mailer each received first place awards, our Lennie's Gallery/Dine & Donate event scored a second place award, and our e-news garnered a third place award.
A panel of statewide United Way peers and communication professionals select the winners based on visual impact, the overall project, innovation, cost-effectiveness, and measurable outcomes.
"We are honored to receive this award on behalf of the community and appreciate our partners who help make an impact every day. It's a great feeling to have our work recognized by our statewide peers on our approach to create a better tomorrow for members of our community," commented Jenn Hottell, Community Engagement Director (pictured above with Barry Lessow, Executive Director).
