The Spirit Award recognizes an energetic volunteer who helps makes the annual campaign more successful than it would be otherwise. This year’s winner, Vanessa McClary, shared her vivacious spirit and can-do attitude with United Way and we are truly lucky to have her on our team.

 

As President of the South Central Indiana Kiwanis Club, she engaged the membership to contribute to the campaign and ensure that our neighbors can learn more, earn more, and lead safer and healthier lives.

 

Vanessa’s passion for service, especially the pursuit of empowering our youth, motivated her to raise a hand and say yes to leadership on our Campaign Cabinet this year. We credit her with the idea of “Passing the Pig” to area businesses, being a great cheerleader, and an active doer in the work of outreach and relationship building. Thanks for all the work you do make the community stronger, Vanessa!
