ACA Open Enrollment Deadline is Approaching

Feb. 9, 2015 - Open enrollment for 2015 health coverage ends February 15th. There's still time to enroll in a plan for 2015 that meets your needs and budget.

Cover Monroe is holding free sign-up events through February 15th at the Monroe County Public Library. During the sign-up events you can meet with a licensed Navigator who will provide unbiased help at no charge to help you enroll in the healthcare plan that is right for you and your family.

Cover Monroe is also holding a Health Plan Forum February 10th, 6:30-8:30pm at Monroe County Public Library. During this event you will be able to ask representatives of health insurance companies about deductibles, co-pays, and how to know which plan is best for you and your family. All audience questions on health plans will be answered during this free event.

To get enrolled, you can also contact IU Health Individual Solutions. They operate regular daily hours Monday-Friday to meet one-on-one with residents. Call 1-800-313-1328 to make an appointment to see a certified Navigator. The City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department also has certified Navigators to assist you. Call 812-349-3851 for enrollment assistance. Para Español 812-349-3860 o latinoprograms@bloomington.in.gov. There is no charge for Navigator services provided through the IUH, Cover Monroe, and the City of Bloomington.

United Way encourages you to carefully review your health coverage options, including HIP 2.0, by visiting a Navigator soon. HIP enrollment continues past February 15, but the Marketplace plans will close. Without coverage, you face a possible fine of $325 or more on next year's Federal income taxes.

To be sure people have a chance to visit a Navigator, especially during the busiest enrollment times, United Way was proud to fund the training and certification for four new volunteer Navigators through Cover Monroe (an ACA Volunteers of Monroe County project).

Are you ready to enroll now directly from your computer? Go to www.healthcare.gov to apply for coverage, see side-by-side comparisons of plans, and review prices. Then choose a plan that meets your medical needs and enroll.
