As the Thanksgiving holiday draws closer, we at United Way of Monroe County would like to express gratitude for the many gifts this community provides.
We feel thankful to live in a place where so many make room in their hearts for their neighbors. I am especially thankful for all of the folks contributing towards our shared mission - our colleagues at member agencies who work tirelessly, our engaged workplace volunteers, a dedicated board of directors, the generous donors who sustain us, and our talented and passionate staff and interns. We are a stronger community because of each and every one of you.
We also take this time to reflect on the struggles of those for whom the season brings additional stress, isolation, financial burdens, or stark reminders of vulnerability to cold and hunger. If you or someone you know is struggling in any way, please call 2-1-1 to get connected with the right supports.
