A Conversation on Early Brain Development with Dr. Judith Palfrey
*Livestream*
Wednesday, April 2
3:30 - 5:00 pm
Pinnacle School
2182 W Industrial Park Drive, Bloomington
The experiences young children have in their first three years of life are crucial to brain development. Those experiences are key to developing a foundation for a life of learning and success.
Dr. Judith Palfrey of Harvard Medical School will be speaking about the importance of quality pediatric health, including sharing her experiences as a researcher on one of the most famous longitudinal studies of early childhood programs. This event will be streamed live thanks to United Way of Central Indiana and WFYI.
Join us on Wednesday, April 2 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm for refreshments and the opportunity to hear Dr. Palfrey speak to audiences across the state who share an interest in early childhood programs that shape a child's life.
Dr. Palfrey is the T. Berry Brazelton Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and is the Director of the Global Pediatrics Program at Children's Hospital, Boston. Palfrey was a member of the Brookline Early Education Project team and the principal investigator in the 25-year follow-up, which documented the educational, health, and mental health benefits of an integrated early-childhood program. She is currently working to establish training and service programs around the world based on her experiences in the United States.
We are fortunate to have this opportunity (at no charge) to hear and interact with this nationally-renown and respected scholar and advocate for early childhood education. A bonus is being able to do this right here in Bloomington and still be in a conversation with our colleagues from across the state. Please join us in showing Dr. Palfrey that we are committed to learning more about how our state can provide young children with the best early childhood education.
