United Way’s Born Learning initiative helps parents, caregivers, and our community supports positive early childhood development. Born Learning provides easy research-based ways to turn everyday moments into fun learning opportunities for young children. Quality early learning results in reduced crime, less teen pregnancy, more high school graduates, and more individual success in work and life.
Free Born Learning materials are available for download. United Way of South Central Indiana partners with area organizations to help distribute these materials to parents, grandparents, and caregivers.
In July 2011, the Born Learning Play Path at the Clear Creek Trail was launched by United Way, Monroe Smart Start, and City of Bloomington Parks & Recreations. The Play Path features 10 fun outdoor games on signs that engage children and their families. Read More (pdf download) >>
